Welcome Back

Good morning class, I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Who’s still eating turkey leftovers?

Today we are going to focus on beginning to identify the most important events in Poppy so that we can begin writing our summary.  Good readers often write a summary after finishing a book, in order to synthesize what they have read.  When you synthesize information, you combine all of your thinking to help you understand the book better.

ELA Expectations for today:

Reading — please think deeply about the book and refer to both the book and your reader’s notebook when answering the questions of the day.  This will help us when we begin writing our summaries.

Another artful artist at work…I love the details in the eyes.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Good morning class, I hope everyone is ready for turkey day.  Does anyone have special family traditions that you do during this time of year?  If so, please tell me about it in the comments section below.  I thought I’d start today off with a little STEM.

An excellent example of speed and distance calculated exactly.  Tell me what you think about this in the comments section.

Please send in pics of your drawing.

Peace

And the Battle is About to Begin!

Good morning class, I hope you’re ready for the battle between Poppy and Mr. Ocax.  Good readers, once they reach the turning point, read without interruption to the end, in order to enjoy the satisfying feeling of finishing the book. As they get ready to do that, they think about how the author is going to “tie up all the loose ends” at the end.  Hope you enjoy the ending.

We will also have a zoom meeting tomorrow morning at 10:30.
